We want to take a moment and highlight a member every two weeks who pushes as best as they can at the gym, leads a positive life to those around them, and to those who always go the extra mile.
YENNIFER PRICOPE
Yennifer is one of my favorite transformations! She came in – very insecure but very ready to change her life! Through hard work and dedication, she absolutely KILLED it! I am so proud of her and how far she has come. I consider Yennifer a good friend of mine and I am very excited to see what the rest of this year has in store for her! She has even dragged (willingly) her husband into our ranks and introduced a few of her friends to us! Yennifer – keep crushing it!
1. What got you interested in fitness?
My interest in fitness came after I had my baby. After I delivered my baby I had a rare complication called Amniotic Fluid Embolism. Recovering was very challenging, even breathing was painful, let alone walking. It took a while for me to be able to walk without holding on to something but as soon as I was able to I pushed myself to walk more and more every day. As soon as my physician gave me the ok I started exercising but I was too weak, out of shape and overweight. So I went looking for professional help and that’s when I found Burr Strength (Joey).
2. How do you find/make time to get your workouts in?
I like to get my workout done first thing in the morning. I know that if I leave it for later in the day I am not going to do it. Also, working out in the morning gives me a boost of energy and feeling of accomplishment that makes my day so much better.
3. Do you have a/any tip(s) for newer people who are just getting into workouts?
I know everyone says the same things but it is the truth, you just need to start. It took me a while to realize this but it made me feel good once I did: changes don’t happen overnight and even if they are not happening has fast as you would like to, know that every minute that you put into it makes you stronger, healthier. So, DON’T GIVE UP!
4. What is your current workout routine?
I go Monday – Friday to Training Camp and recently started going on Saturdays to Kettlebell/Boxing, which I really like.
5. What is your favorite part of fitness? Your least favorite?
My favorite part is the feeling when I finish a workout… it is hard to explain but it gives me so much joy… The least favorite… I think it is jumping box. It makes me mad every time I want to jump higher and I can’t. I am just really bad at it.
6. What is your next/current fitness goal?
I would like to loose another 10lb while getting stronger and be able to do a level 3 consistently during conditioning.
7. How has Burr Strength and Performance helped you on your fitness Journey?
Burr Strength and Performance has changed me not just physically but also mentally. When I started I never thought i would be working out consistently for this long. Now, when I don’t workout, I feel like something is missing. Working out at Burr Strength has become part of my life, part of my daily routine. Thanks to the Burr Strength team I am healthier, I am stronger.
8. What is your favorite class you take?
I have truly enjoyed all classes i have taken but my favorite one is Training Camp. Is the combination of Conditioning, Weight lifting and Post Workouts in 1 hour; I think it’s genius. Every single day is different and unexpected, so no there is no way to get bored. It is a little competitive, which pushes me to want to do better, which at the same time helps me get stronger and reach new goals. There is also the individual 6 weeks lifting program personalized based on everybody needs. It’s just brilliant! The program really works!
9. Anything else you wish to share?
I am so grateful to the entire BSP team and to all the members because you all makes it that much more special and a joy (even if it hurts some times lol). Joey you make a difference in peoples life, you help us be better, healthier, stronger. THANK YOU!
