Welcome to the Movement Analysis! We will be showcasing Photos and Videos of common errors that people have. Why? A lot of us have no clue! We will be pointing out both the good and the bad! This is to help everyone!
She is performing the Overhead Press Portion of a movement. Let’s break it down.
- Excellent core engagment. Notice how she is keeping her ribcage down towards her hips (BRACING), no excessive lower back arch. Fantastic lock out in the mid-section.
- She shoved her head through the window – the weight is directly overhead. Ideally she would be looking forward but this could be due to looking down to reset foot position (she is performing a complex).
- Wrist control is not ideal – notice the barbell is actually behind her wrist. Ideally we want our Knuckles to the sky – to minimize wrist damage/failure. Rotate the wrist and shove your fists to the sky!
Great work Kelsey!
