Your upperbody is mainly there to hold onto the rope.<\/p>\n<p>Two things to really practice and nail down when trying to learn how to climb a rope.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Establish a FIRM J-Hook<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Without it, you will be relying a ton on your upper body. This is great for those trying to develop legless rope climbs!<\/li>\n<li>Really think about pushing down with the top foot and up with the bottom foot to create a firm anchor once you have the rope in the J-Hook position around your main foot.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Re-stablishing a J-Hook when in a Knees to Chest Position on the rope.<\/b>\n<ol>\n<li>In order to actually climb the rope, you have to be able to pull your knees to your chest and establish a J-Hook while in an odd position.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/burrstrength.com\/p\/programs\/rope-climb\/\"><strong>Check out our program on a rope for a bit more detail!
